Everything on HeyPenny

What could I get?A few questions: tax back, welfare, grants.

Language

Revenue and Social Welfare forms are only in English or Irish.

A computer translates the other languages, so some words may be wrong. Money, dates and form names stay as they are.

A self-assessment tool, not advice

Last updated 1 November 2026

heypenny.ie is a trading name of Kinch Press.

HeyPenny is a self-assessment tool. It works out figures from the answers you give, using the published rules. It isn't financial, tax or legal advice, and HeyPenny isn't a tax agent and doesn't act for you. You're responsible for checking your answers and for anything you file, claim or sign. Revenue, the Department of Social Protection, the HSE or your council decides your case.

What that means for you

  • Every figure comes from the answers you type in. If an answer is wrong or missing, the figure will be too.
  • Give true and complete answers. HeyPenny doesn't check them against Revenue's or the Department's records. Giving false information to Revenue, the Department of Social Protection, a council or SEAI can be an offence. You're responsible for it, not HeyPenny.
  • HeyPenny doesn't look at your case, doesn't act for you and doesn't file or apply for anything on your behalf. You decide what to file, claim or sign, and you send it yourself.
  • Revenue, the Department of Social Protection, the HSE, your council or SEAI decides every return, payment, card and grant. A result on HeyPenny is never a promise that you'll get something.
  • If your situation is complicated or a lot is at stake, have a qualified accountant, tax adviser, solicitor or Citizens Information check it.

Who is responsible

You are responsible for checking your answers and for anything you file, claim or sign using HeyPenny. Kinch Press isn't responsible for decisions you make, or for what Revenue, the Department, the HSE or a council decides, on the strength of these figures. If an answer you give isn't true or complete, you are responsible for what follows, such as tax, interest, penalties, or paying back a payment or grant. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under Irish law. Our terms say what we do if a paid PDF or pack is wrong because of our own mistake.

How the figures are made

HeyPenny works out figures from the answers you give, using rules checked against Revenue, gov.ie, the Irish Statute Book and Citizens Information. Every figure links to its source, and the rules were last checked on 16 October 2026.

Budget 2027 measures, including the 31% CGT rate for disposals from 7 October 2026, take full legal effect when Finance (No. 2) Bill 2026 and the Social Welfare Bill 2026 are enacted. Our figures will be updated if the final law differs.

Grant figures are estimates from each scheme's published rules. The council or SEAI decides every application and the amount. Application packs are a form-filling service, not legal advice, and HeyPenny is not your agent.
