Local Property Tax (LPT)
A yearly tax on residential property, based on its value band.
Owners of residential property pay Local Property Tax (LPT) each year, based on the property's value at the valuation date and the local authority's rate. Not keeping LPT up to date can add a surcharge to your income tax or Capital Gains Tax.
