Can I get the lead pipe grant?

Common questions

How much is the lead pipe grant?

All of the cost of replacing lead pipes and fittings inside your property boundary, up to €5,000. There's no check on your income. Work under €750 can't get it.

What proof do I need?

You need one of these before the work. A letter from Uisce Éireann or your water supplier, a lab test showing too much lead, or a report from an architect, engineer or surveyor.

When do I apply?

After the work is done and paid for. You send the claim form with the receipt, the proof of lead and the plumber's tax clearance details.

What about the pipe outside my boundary?

Uisce Éireann replaces its own lead pipe for free once you've replaced yours. Ask it about its lead pipe scheme.
