Can I get the well grant?

Common questions

How much is the well grant?

85% of the cost of fixing a well, up to €3,000, or of a new well, up to €5,000. Water treatment, like a filter or ultraviolet lamp, is paid in full up to €1,000 on top.

Who can get it?

Someone living in a house more than 7 years old, on its own well, with no mains or group scheme near enough to join. The water must be unsafe or not enough.

Do I need quotes?

Yes, 3 quotes for each kind of work, treatment too. Send copies with the form, and don't start until the council visits and approves it.

Who tests the water?

An accredited lab, before and after the work. The lab takes the sample, not you. The test counts as part of the work's cost.
