The tax credits on your payslip
Credits take your income tax down euro for euro. Your employer uses a weekly or monthly share of them.
Most single employees have a personal credit and an employee credit: €2,000 each in 2026. Spread over 12 months, that's €333.33 off your income tax each month. Other credits, such as the rent tax credit, add to it once you claim them.
